First Successful test of servo-operated metal Archangel wings for World Maker Faire and NY comic con 2011.
The wings are made from aircraft grade aluminum alloy. Spring hinges push the wings outward, while servos wind up a high strength fishing line that pull them back in. The servos are controlled by gloves I am wearing. The gloves have conductive thread inlaid in each of the fingers, pressing a finger to my thumb causes a specific movement of the wings. This video is just to show the movement, they have since been detailed and polished.
